Senior Associate, Curriculum, Training & Assessment

Summary: World Savvy's staff works in interdependent and interconnected teams to accomplish our goals. This position is a part of the Curriculum, Training & Assessment (CTA) Team (within the Program Team), which is responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating World Savvy's range of programs. This team works collaboratively with the Implementation (Program), Outreach (Program), and Strategic Partnerships Teams.

Under the general supervision of the CTA Team Leader, the Senior Associate for Curriculum, Training and Assessment (hereafter the "Associate") is responsible for supporting the execution of all curriculum development, facilitation and training (internal & external), instructional design, and evaluation for World Savvy programs. In 2013-14, this chiefly requires the oversight of curriculum development, including designing and updating program curriculum, facilitating workshops and webinars, and supporting the comprehensive evaluation of online and live programs. Additionally, the CTA Associate will engage in supporting, as needed, a variety of curriculum and facilitation projects within the CTA team's domain, including and especially a varied range of consulting projects for external clients. This position will also require supporting broader partnership management with a range of entities nationally, including K-12 schools, nonprofit partners, and educators through consulting or program projects. The Associate will frequently liaise with members of the Implementation team, to support the design of programming, curriculum development, and training. Daily tasks include program and curriculum development, training design and facilitation, outreach support, communications, and other activities as determined by the CTA team lead.

Responsibilities of the CTA Associate may include (but are not limited to):

Programming (Curriculum, Instruction, and Training)

  • Support the development and ongoing enhancement of program curriculum, ensuring quality implementation across programs
  • Support the standardization and significant expansion of World Savvy's program capabilities nationally, online and regionally
  • Support efforts to secure accreditation status for programs in 2013-14 and beyond
  • Assist with execution of customized consulting contracts, maintaining relationships with external constituents (consulting clients and educators) with highest standards of professionalism and integrity
  • Support the design and facilitation of program training (for educators and students in core programs, and for Implementation Team members and the broader staff)
  • Stay apprised of (and ensure broader team engagement with) research around emerging educational priorities and trends affecting World Savvy's work (common core, etc).
  • Support research and development for new theme-related materials in core programs and for other projects, as needed
  • Work with Implementation team to execute program enhancements and program development initiatives nationally and internationally
  • Attend and assist in facilitation of local workshops and orientations for core programs and consulting clients
  • Update and maintain program resources used for wider audience of educators and students

Evaluation/Analysis

  • Support the collection, analysis and synthesis of program evaluation results as needed
  • Survey administration and data collection with constituents for use in program evaluation (teachers, students and volunteers) as needed

Communications & Marketing Support:

  • § Supporting all marketing and communication efforts which enhance visibility and participation in World Savvy programs
  • § Represent World Savvy at conferences and community events, and program events, some of these occurring on evenings and weekends

  • § Bachelor's degree, required; advanced degree, preferred
  • § Strong and demonstrated commitment to World Savvy's mission
  • § 5+ years of experience working in education, with particular emphasis on curriculum development and facilitation/training
  • § Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • § Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a small and collaborative team environment
  • § Excellent oral and written communication skills; clear and professional demeanor.
  • § Strong time management and multi-task management skills
  • § Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • § Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • § Ability to travel, as needed

Desired:

  • § Knowledge of Salesforce and CRM technologies and best practices
  • § K-12 Teaching Experience
  • § Strong understanding of social studies and/or science content/concepts
  • § Advanced computer skills, including comfort with Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat)
