Project Manager II

The Trust for Public Land, a national non-profit organization dedicated to conserving land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens, and other natural areas, has an opening in its St. Paul, MN office for a Project Manager II. This position will be responsible for conservation real estate transactions throughout the State of Minnesota, including the evaluation of potential projects; project strategy, negotiations with landowners, planning with elected officials and agency staff regarding protection of key properties for long term public use; public and private funding; and community involvement.

The responsibilities of a Project Manager II are evolving from a primary focus on conservation real estate transactions to include post acquisition skills and stewardship: site development; on-going community engagement; park design and development; and stewardship strategies and techniques. The work of The Trust for Public Land has also evolved to rely on diverse sources of philanthropy so that the Project Manager II position demands regular and strategic team work with philanthropy and program staff as well as legal and real estate staff. The individual best suited for this Project Manager II position will have a demonstrated interest and track record in these additional areas of expertise.

The position requires 3-5 years experience in real estate transactions and/or land conservation; computer literacy; and/or work for or with public agencies engaged in land conservation. A degree in real estate, law, land use planning, land conservation or a related field preferred. Experience working in a philanthropic organization is a plus. Some travel (30-40%) is required.

Salary: $60,000 – 76,200
