Project Manager, Queens Healthy Corner Store Initiative

The Communications and External Affairs Department (CEA) is the university’s comprehensive publicity, promotion, writing, design and digital media resource, playing a key role in advancing The New School’s bold mission. The CEA project management team serves as primary liaisons with academic and administrative partners/collaborators, leading large and small web, digital, print and media projects, and multi-channel promotional campaigns.

We are seeking a seasoned project manager to manage a complex and varied portfolio of marketing and communications projects and campaigns, working with academic and administrative partners and collaborators to support the university’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

-Serve as primary liaison/relationship manager and strategic consultant for assigned partners/collaborators. Regularly meet to understand goals and consult on, plan, and prioritize future needs. Deliver exceptional customer service.

-Lead and manage projects of varying sizes and forms, including products (web, print, digital, video) and campaigns (e.g., new program launches, university initiatives)

-Ensure that projects are aligned with and support university mission, vision, and strategic goals. Keep a global perspective and determine how a current project can inform or be informed by other projects

-Write and disseminate creative briefs, create practical and detailed project plans and timelines, track tasks and deadlines, schedule and facilitate meetings, manage budgets, establish and manage approvals, and assume accountable for all deliverables

-Use project management systems and software to track and manage projects. Regularly assess portfolio and prioritize work.

-Provide timely, clear, and thorough communications and status reporting throughout project life cycle, including management reporting.

-Remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices

Qualifications:

-3 to 5 years project management experience or related experience. PMP certification a plus

-Experience managing publications, print/graphic design, marketing, and/or web development

-Background in nonprofit, communications, or academia preferred, however candidates from other industries with applicable skills will be considered

-Effective collaborator, facilitator, and mediator

-Excellent organizational and time management skills; able manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects

-Flexible, adaptable, and results-oriented; proven ability to thrive and succeed in a creative, changing, and fast-paced environment

-Clear, concise, and articulate written and verbal communications, including excellent presentation skills

-Knowledge of MS Office Suite and Mac platforms; familiarity with project management software.
