Position Summary: UWEWH is seeking a professional experienced in program design and evaluation. The Evaluation Specialist, reporting to the Director of Community Impact, will contribute to UWEWH's goal to effectively design, monitor, assess, and refine its programs through the development of best-practice oriented programs and consistent collection and analysis of multiple sources of data.
This is a one year grant funded position. Extension of the stated term is likely, but contingent upon funding.
Specific responsibilities include:
Program Development and Delivery Work with the UWEWH team and community partners to develop and deliver programming in the focus areas of education, income and health Refine and build upon UWEWH's current Community Impact Plan Faciliate meetings composed of a diverse set of leaders and practitioners, to address multidisciplinary issues and approaches Apply research-based best practices to program design and evaluation Collaborate with Community Impact staff throughout the United Way network Assist UWEWH team in the development of partnership agreements, collaboration protocols and/or memorandums of understanding, when appropriate Assist with the drafting of funding proposals Manage the Income Policy Advisory Council
Research and Program Evaluation Oversee program research design, data collection and evaluation Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data Facilitate and direct focus groups and interviews Document quantitative and qualitative findings Manage data system upgrades and updates Communicate data results to a wide audience with varied levels of research experience and expertise.
Other Duties as required
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree (master's preferred) with a strong focus on social science research methods (both qualitative and quantitative) or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience At least 1 year of professional experience in a research or evaluation work environment At least 2 years professional experience with program design (experience with Individual Development Account Programs preferred) Experience with designing qualitative and quantitative data collection tools and conducting focus groups and interviews Expertise in Microsoft Office, SPSS and on-line survey products Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills Ability to work as a member of a team and independently without immediate and constant supervision Ability to multi-task and take constructive direction Ability to maintain confidentiality Belief in the mission and goals of United Way Enthusiasm, sense of humor, determination and resourcefulness Bilingual is a plus
