Dynamic, energetic teachers, passionate about children and education needed for a progressive, alternative International School.
Creativity, flexibility, resourcefulness and an adventurous spirit will be the keys to success for the teachers I need to complete our teaching team for the 2014 - 2015. If you would truly enjoy growing a school from the ground-up (we are now only in our 3rd year as a school), teaching a small class (maximum 15 per class, most 8-12) in an environment that encourages creativity and innovation, while living in a small tourist town set on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, this may be the position for you. The Samana Peninsula, in the Northeast of the Dominican Republic was named recently by the New Yorker as one of the 50 places to visit for its unspoiled beauty.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain cross-cultural experience and practise/learn Spanish while making a contribution to the children of this unique community. Las Terrenas International School is part of a small, local, non-profit organization, and thus truly dedicated to quality education for all.
Certified teachers. Creative, innovative and flexible with a desire to be part of a very small, new program and help in its planning and growth. The ideal candidate will have experience with play-based, project-based and/or place-based education, and relish the freedom from teaching to tests that we can offer. Ideally you are a native English speaker who is also fluent in Spanish, has previously lived overseas and be interested in the community service programs of the partner foundation as well. Must be in good health.
