The position
The part-time Humanities teacher will teach an inte
rdisciplinary Language Arts and Social Studies
class sixth grade. The class meets 12 hours/week.
Job responsibilities
• Work with other middle school humanities teac
hers to develop the middle school humanities
• Teach the 6th grade humanities course
• Collaborate with colleagues to e
ffectively deliver the GSA program
• Use a variety of techniques to engage all learners
• Participate actively and positively in faculty meetings
• Perform other duties as assi
gned by the head of school
• A bachelor’s degree in English, History or Interdis
ciplinary Studies is required; a master’s degree is
• Strong communication skills required (verbal, written)
• Experience in private schools preferred
• Other skills a plus (in our small school)
• Must be able to work as a member of a team
• Direct experience with girls’ sc
hools is a plus; an understanding of the benefits of a single-gender
education is essential
• Ability to work as a member of a highly collaborative faculty
• Must be flexible
• Must work well with pr
