Women’s Venture Fund (WVF) is a not-for-profit organization that provides training and financial services for entrepreneurial women in the greater New York/New Jersey area. We are committed to helping women owned businesses succeed, through training , coaching and when appropriate with funding. The primary function of the Manager is to develop WVF’s capital program, develop the business advisory and funding analyst service, create strategic alliances to support expansion of WVF’s capital program, and provide necessary advisory and training services to targeted clients. The Manager will solicit and review client business plans to determine funding requirements for high growth. and assist organization in new funder relationships. Experience structuring deals, evaluating funding options and preparing relevant financial packages required.
Manager will serve as a trainer/ advisor assisting clients understand how to grow their business • Assist with all phases of business development and growth • Nurture and grow aspiring entrepreneurial women from under-served urban communities. • Conduct periodic business performance reviews • Monitor and track programs performance •
Duties and Responsibilities: Develop strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance implementation of brand strategies ; Grow WVF brand and reach of organization; create new revenue opportunities for the organization and clients • Provide technical assistance and counseling for clients seeking capital with WVF or its partners. • Assess client’s business development goals and determine how WVF can assist client businesses through a series of interviews and client site visits • Assist with presentations about WVF to community groups as needed. • Update and develop experientially based curriculum. • Conduct training sessions, based upon approved curriculum. • Work collaboratively in team efforts to promote programs and serve clients; • Be flexible and creative in addressing needs of clients and supporting program goals. •
Qualification Requirements for Small Business Advisor:
• Proven knowledge and experience with all phases of business development • Knowledgeable of all levels of business operations including: Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, Accountancy and Finance, Management and Leadership, Entrepreneurial Management, Organizational Effectiveness, process improvement, public policy, business and employment law. • Fully knowledgeable of marketing and distribution channels • Excellent communication and presentation skills; • Excellent writing and financial analysis skills; • Have a track record of developing fundable business plans • Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of business plan development • Strong research skills; • Ability to establish and build rapport with clients; • Ability to analyze and solve business problems; • Ability to exercise discretion regarding confidential information; •
MBA or equivalent work experience; • Two years working in a job related function or where skills are easily transferable to the functions of Manager; • Fluency in English and Spanish desirable; • Computer literacy a) Microsoft Office Suite Professional b) Project Management Software c) E-mail proficiency Relocation benefits are not available.
