Gallery Assistant, Marketing

Part-time, entry-level position. Training and expanded hours possible for the right applicant.

General description: The Gallery Assistant will provide general support for the gallery by generating and maintaining promotional and informational materials about the gallery and the artists in its portfolio, in both physical and digital media; interfacing with gallery visitors, answering the phone, taking messages and collect contact information for responding with further information

General duties include
- Update online platforms with image and text content:
Cynthia-Reeves.com, Artnet, ArtSy, 1stDibs, Twitter, Lookbooks, Constant Contact and Google Documents

- Generate promotional materials
Artist PDFs, Project PDFs, Exhibition Banners, Information Binders, Price Lists and Labels, Art Fair materials, Art Advisory presentations

- Mailing list database
Update mailing list weekly; accuracy and attention to detail required

- Edit and Proof Copy
Review of all promotional writing and materials; proof read for content and grammar

- Interaction with Gallery Visitors
Greet visitors; respond to questions about artists / artworks; collect contact information for responding with further information

- Maintain Directors Calendar
Update gallery director’s online calendar; send reminders of events

Applicant must have familiarity with Mac operating systems and the following software, MS Word, Excel, Photoshop and InDesign. Qualified candidate should be personable, detail-oriented, organized, and enjoy interacting with artists and the public.
