Full Time Elementary After School Coordinator

Job Title: Full-Time After School Program Site Coordinator (at either McKinley or Webster Elementary Schools)

Reports To:Executive Director and Program Director


The Site Coordinator is responsible for all site operations including, but not limited to, staff management, participant enrollment, payroll, attendance, student support (restorative justice), curriculum review, scheduling, partnership/community relations and program management and development.

This position involves frequent communication with participants, families and program partners and must be able to represent the organization in a professional, customer-oriented manner. We are looking for someone with exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of competency, motivation to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and the ability to learn and grow professionally. Most importantly, the candidate must share a passion for working with children, especially those from under-resourced families/communities and those with special needs.

Specific Responsibilities:

– Ensure a high quality program is run consistently according to the guidelines and philosophy set by ASEP

– Ensure completion of attendance on a daily basis

– Enter staff time sheets in a timely and accurate manner

– Oversee student registration and application processing

– Train and manage ASEP line staff effectively while also being a steward and coach

– Develop, review and maintain an academically aligned program curriculum

-Oversee program inventory and ordering systems

– Maintain a successful relationship with key partners including SFUSD, EXCEL, RPD, parents, community etc.

– Ensure the safety of ASEP students while providing engaging activities on a daily basis

– Ability to work with large groups of children

– Passionate about education and working with children

– Ability to adapt and change plans when necessary or on short notice

– Must be enthusiastic and not afraid to be silly and have fun with kids

– Ability to work with children in a positive and caring manner

– Ability to work independently and with a team

– Ability to work efficiently and stay organized

– Must possess strong communication skills and always have professional interactions with community members, staff and management

– Must be helpful and address questions and concerns from staff, partners and community members with confidence and poise

– Work effectively to meet deadlines and accomplish goals

– Must possess strong leadership skills

– Must attend occasional meetings and events outside of regular work schedule

-Provide exceptional customer service to participants, families, guests and partners

-Identify opportunities and be willing to execute the development, improvement and streamlining of administrative systems, program infrastructure and program design

-Ability to strategically think, plan, solve problems, work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Required Qualifications:

– Fingerprint/Department of Justice and TB clearance

– Child/Infant CPR and First Aid certified

– Site Supervisor Permit or 12+ ECE units and willing to complete more ECE Site Supervisor requirements

– Experience working with youth in an educational/recreational setting

– 3+ years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment

– Program growth and management experience

– Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

– Exceptional customer service skills

– Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills

– High level of reliability, work ethic and integrity

Preferred Qualifications:

– B.A. or M.A. in relevant field

– Bilingual English/Spanish

– Knowledge of data input into EMS system

– Experience developing and reviewing school age curriculum

– Experience working for a non-profit, after school program or SFUSD

Hours, Compensation and Benefits:

This is a regular full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience ($27,500 – $40,000). Full-time benefits include medical and dental insurance, short-term disability and paid vacation days.
