Forest School Teacher

Job Description :
This is a position for the lead teacher and coordinator for the Forest Preschool and Forest School programs at NBNC. The position is contracted from January 30, 2014 to June 15th, 2014. The job is part time at 24 hours a week. The NBNC Forest School teacher helps to continue NBNC’s mission to provide informative and experiential outreach programs for the community here in central Vermont.
Pay commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate and teach the Forest Preschool and Forest School programs.
  • Perform outreach and advertising for Forest Preschool.
  • Document lessons and learning as a result of both Forest Preschool and Forest
  • Network with other Forest Preschool programs
  • Write two blog posts per month about Forest Preschool at NBNC


  • BA in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education
  • Wilderness First Aid and CPR
  • Documented experience leading students outdoors in all types of weather

Preference will be given to applicants who:

  • Hold an Early Childhood Certification in VT
  • Have related course work to Forest School and Nature Preschool philosophy
  • Practice storytelling, singing, and nature inspired art in their daily teaching routine
