First Grade Teacher

Seattle Waldorf School seeks a First Grade Class teacher for the fall of 2013. We will welcome a large class of 25-29 very enthusiastic students coming out of our Early Childhood program. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching, parent education and dialogue, self-development, and collegial cooperation. Bachelor’s degree and Waldorf training required.

About SWS
Founded in 1980, Seattle Waldorf School has an experienced faculty who serve approximately 370 students in programs from Early Childhood through Grade 12. The school is a full member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and a subscriber school of the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (PNAIS). Our wooded grade school campus in north Seattle offers students an intimate setting to learn and grow, while the high school is located in the vibrant, urban heart of the city, rich with cultural opportunities. Additional school programs include Eurythmy, Spanish, Japanese, handwork, music, woodwork, gardening, games and movement, after school care, remedial education, and extracurricular activities.

Operating out of our facilities is the Sound Circle Center for Arts and Anthroposophy, which offers a three-year teacher training, in addition to a full spectrum of summer courses. The Seattle area offers a wide variety of outdoor and wilderness recreational opportunities, in addition to a full array of civic and cultural activities.
