This is an exciting opportunity to be instrumental in assessing the quality of the services offered to participants of the Healthy Families/TIP of Essex Program by joining the Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey's.
The Healthy Families/TIP Program is designed to teach new parents how to form healthy bonds with their babies, to interact in developmentally appropriate ways, and to provide safe homes for their children by linking each participant with a trained home visitor called a Family Support Worker.
As Family Support Worker of the Healthy Families/TIP Program of Essex, you will implement quality assurance measures for all enrolled participants; specifically seeking those who may have been impacted by Hurricane Sandy. You will also enter data into the FamSys data management system. Some additional tasks may be required, as needed, such as assisting with scheduling visits, assisting with the planning and facilitating of workshops, etc.
Qualifications: Associates degree in a related field is preferred; related experience may be substituted.
Preferred skills and qualities: Applicant must have strong facilitation skills; have organizational and time management skills; be able to network with various organizations; be independently motivated as well as a team worker. Enthusiastic and committed to community health and social change; must demonstrate respect for individuals and diversity; be nonjudgmental, understanding and compassionate. Applicant must be able to work in diverse communities; be able to travel to areas of Essex County and Northern New Jersey by personal car. Must have a valid driver's license and personal vehicle with up to date registration & insurance. Bi-lingual English/Creole, English/Spanish, or English/Portuguese is a PLUS!
