Family Advocate-Crossroads Family Shelter

Crossroads is a Family Shelter that serves twenty-five (25) families. Fifteen (15) families at Crossroads Congregate Family Shelter in East Boston and ten (10) families situated in scattered site apartments in greater Boston. Crossroads stabilization efforts begin upon intake, where a family is assessed and an initial service plan is developed. A family’s potential for self sufficiency is carefully monitored throughout their stay and follows them into independent living

Crossroads seeks Family Advocates for its day/evening and overnight shifts to provide supportive services to families living in our congregate shelter program. Our Family Advocates are required to develop positive, supportive relationships with families while ensuring a safe, healthy, productive shelter setting.

Family Advocates provide front-line assistance with daily operations, including implementing shelter policies, procedures and rules; monitoring the facility; performing light cleaning duties; and maintaining accurate documentation. Family Advocates work in coordination with a Family Service Team, including Case Managers, Housing Search Specialists, and an On-Call Management team.

All schedules include late evening and weekend hours.

Qualified candidates will be flexible, team oriented, hands-on, and demonstrate respect and commitment to families served. The position requires a Bachelors Degree in human services, social work or related field, 2-4 years experience in residential settings, and bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus!
