Bear Valley Music Festival ; Executive Director
The Executive Director works in cooperation with the Board and the Music Director to implement the strategic direction of the Festival and to enhance the Festival's position as a significant visitor event in Bear Valley during the two weeks of late July and August. The position is part time, with increasing time demands in June through August. As the primary administrator of the organization the ED manages a small office staff and a dedicated volunteer corps. The ED negotiates all contracts involving vendors, production staff and, in conjunction with the Music Director, all artistic personnel. The ED coordinates the planning, organizing, and direction of Festival activities, generates marketing and publicity materials, both print and website, and assists the Board in fundraising activities. He/she works with the Finance Committee to establish the annual budget and operate the festival to meet its expenses and income. As a Festival spokesperson, the ED develops productive relationships with other businesses and organizations in the community.
Qualifications: Event planning and execution; excellent written and oral communication skills; financial management; a personable and inclusive management style.
Residency in Bear Valey not required. Applicant will be expected to attend monthly board meetings in Bear Valley, and to be resident for eight weeks in July, August.
