The In-Sight Photography Project is a not-for-profit corporation that teaches photography to youth ages 11-18 regardless of their ability to pay. Located in postcard-perfect Southern Vermont, In-Sight offers students a creative voice and outlet, an opportunity to experience success, tools for self-awareness and self-worth, and encourages them to become actively engaged in their communities.
Founded twenty years ago by photographers John Willis and Bill Ledger, this not-for-profit corporation now offers photography courses at the introductory, intermediate and advanced levels for students ages 11 to 18, and has had over 2,000 participants. In-Sight also offers cross-cultural educational opportunities through the Exposures program. Since 2003 Exposures has brought together youth from locations including the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, southern Vermont, New York City, and the Navajo Nation in Arizona in the host community of Pine Ridge.
The Executive Director is the face of In-Sight. The person in this position leads the In-Sight staff and supports the In-Sight Board in achieving the organization’s mission. With the Executive Board, the Executive Director establishes annual goals and objectives for the organization and monitors progress toward those goals.
Key responsibilities include:
· Fundraising, grant writing, development and donor relations
· Financial management
· Staff management
· Promotion and public relations
· Budget development
· Board relations
As likely expected, fundraising and donor management are critical responsibilities.
Aside from these key responsibilities, we’re looking for someone with knowledge of photography who loves to work with youth. A demonstrated ability to research and write grants that produce results is a must.
Salary Range: $35,500 – $38,500
