Environmental Educator

Common Ground is seeking educators with experience teaching programs on farms and food, gardening, nutrition, wildlife and ecology and environmental stewardship. Applicants do not need experience in all of these areas as we are seeking educators for many different K-8 environmental education programs for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014.

Programs include Kids Unplugged (grades K-4) and West Rock Rangers (grades 5-8) after-school programs, Every Child Outside school field trip program and two new garden and nature programs run at partner K-8 schools. Activities in programs include science and nature lessons, healthy cooking, farm-based activities, nature arts, local flora and fauna, conservation and stewardship, hiking, and more! Educators are responsible for planning and running activities, coordinating with other staff, behavior management, daily prep and clean-up, and any other tasks necessary to run a fun, safe youth program.
