To administer, in conjunction with Director of
Education, all the department's programs, events, and general operations;
develop and monitor budgets and produce of financial reports.
Under the direction of the Director of City Zoos, assists in the conceptualization, development, supervision, and implementation of a broad spectrum of educational programs for organized groups, families and schools for revenue generation.
Collaborates with Director to seek opportunities for revenue generation, helps develop new program ideas. Works with local assembly people for community/school-based special revenue-generating projects, such as SPARKS, BCAP, Brooklyn College, etc.
In conjunction with Director of Professional Development develops and implements programs for professional development workshops.
Under the direction of the Director, reports and maintains the PPZ Education Department budget, and produces reports as needed, pertinent to the progress of the department.
Minimum bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, conservation,
education or related field. Four years experience in conservation education
program development and implementation experience for diverse audiences.
Supervisory experience, budget development and management and knowledge of
teaching methods and strategies in an informal science institution. Must be
willing to work flexible hours, including some weekends, and posses a valid driver's license.
