Director, Wildlife Protection

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Director of Wildlife Protection for its Wildlife department. The main responsibility of this position is to oversee our work relating to predator protection, captive hunts, and our anti-poaching efforts. Other duties include, but are not limited to: coordinate with other departments and state directors to respond to legislative and rulemaking initiatives; lead campaign effort to develop relationships and form partnerships with government agencies and conservation and wildlife protection organizations; represent the campaign and organization in interactions with external entities through meetings, presentations and conference attendance; manage policy managers and consultants of campaign. Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree or equivalent in related field, or three years of campaign experience required. Knowledge of animal protection and wildlife protection issues, highly desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong research and organizational skills are essential.
