Director of Senior Services

Responsible for developing andimplementing the Senior Services programs of the agency. Assesses needs of older adults and establishes programs to meet needs. PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Directs and coordinates clinical and operations of Senior Services programs, including Mamie GeorgeCommunity Center. Develops departmental service delivery models that identify areas of responsibility,personnel requirements, and operational procedures that are consistent with agency mission, goals, policiesand procedures, service philosophy and funding sources requirements.

Assesses program effectiveness in addressing needs of agency clients. Tracks and monitors progress in meeting client needs, monitors client outcomes, collects and analyses data, and implements corrective action plans as needed.

Prepares and administers budget for department. Monitors monthly income statement and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure budget compliance.

Oversees departmental compliance with agency’s performance quality improvement and evaluation requirements.

Recruits, hires, and trains department staff, evaluate staff performance, and develop primary duties and responsibilities for each employee. Ensures all deparment staff are knowledgeable and possess skills and tools necessary to meet and/or exceed job performance duties.

Participates in identifying potential funding sources, assists in writing grants, and secures government funding. Plans and formulates program ideas, research, and submits proposals with projects costs to management for consideration. May establish and negotiate contracts and submit to senior management for approval.

Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning design and development of new programs for consideration by members of Senior Management.

Works in collaboration with agency-wide departments such as Finance, Technology, Human Resources and program colleagues to meet needs of service delivery recipients.

Seeks opportunities to collaborate and/or partner with community service organizations to coordinate efforts that expand service delivery to agency clients.

Provides oversight/Supervision to Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program staff. Attends monthly meetings with program Lead Case Manager and Case Workers to establish, delineate, and review contract requirements, goals, challenges, and recommends or implements solutions.

Attends national and local trainings, participates in meetings, sits on community based committees, and confers with industry experts to stay abreast of changing market conditions and economic challenges that may affect Senior Services program service delivery.

Works closely with Director of Volunteers in developing a corps of volunteers that will assist staff inthe delivery of services. May include recruiting, training, recognizing volunteers and trackingvolunteer hours in order to expand services. May also include establishing student internships.

Participates in organizational level management activities such as Quality Improvement, operations andManagement meetings. Performing other duties as required such as

participating in staff retreats,United Way tours, agency fairs and speaking engagements, and assisting with special organizationalprojects/events.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Master’s degree in Social Work, LMSW, LCSW with Business Administration background preferred and/or Education in other human service related field.
