Summary: The Center for EcoTechnology is a non-profit environmental organization with offices in Pittsfield, Northampton and Springfield. This position oversees the newly formed Outreach and Education Department and is responsible for all aspects of the Center for EcoTechnology’s strategic marketing, development, outreach and education in order to achieve the organization’s objectives. The position includes being responsible for a comprehensive and integrated effort including marketing through web and print media, fundraising, advertising, media and public relations, community outreach, and education. The position is located in Northampton, is a member of the Executive Team and reports to the Executive Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of organization
• Supervise department manager, 3-5 staff and 3-6 EcoFellows, including hiring, training and performance evaluations
• Work closely with the Executive Team and CET’s business units to anticipate changing strategies or areas of focus
• Plan for and oversee production of all digital and printed material such as website updates, social media outlets and e-blasts, annual reports, marketing collateral, direct mail, media releases, and displays
• Direct community outreach and education efforts including staffed displays at events, workshops, trainings, and presentations at various venues
• Help build and maintain partnerships with communities and community groups to maximize the impact of our outreach and education work
• Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity
• Manage targeted direct marketing activities, advertising and special events for the organization including individual business units
• Develop and manage relationships with key vendors (e.g. design, web programming, printing)
• Develop and manage the Outreach and Education department’s annual budget
• Recommend service positioning, merchandising, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
• Oversee development and maintenance of customer databases
• Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners
• Establish and maintain a consistent brand image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events
• Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
• Manage annual appeal and Earth Day appeals
• Develop and implement a major annual gifts strategy and future capital campaigns
• Research and write grant proposals and oversee grant stewardship activities
• Represent the organization through key outreach opportunities that positively position the organization for visibility

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field with at least five years’ experience demonstrating progressive relevant responsibility
• Proven leadership and vision in marketing, communications, fundraising, outreach and education
• Successful experience in managing multiple marketing projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Successful experience in project management of:
o Strategic communications and marketing
o Digital marketing (web, social media, email)
o Print marketing (collateral materials, annual reports)
o Working with the media ; print, radio, TV
o Advertising
o Outreach and education
• Successful major donor fundraising experience
• Excellent editing skills
• Work style: professional, self-directed, takes initiative, works well in teams, diligent, patient, sense of humor, friendly
• Ability to maintain strict privacy of confidential donor, customer and internal information

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. CET offers competitive pay rates and a comprehensive health plan which pays approximately 64% of the individual’s health insurance costs.
