The Common School is seeking a dynamic educational professional for the position of Director of Curriculum and Learning. The Director of Curriculum and Learning is a strong curricular and instructional leader with knowledge of both child and human development, keen understanding of progressive education, project-based learning.
The Director of Curriculum and Learning reports directly to the Director of the School and, in conjunction with the Director, is responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of all areas of the curriculum and the educational program, the professional development and coaching of teachers, and oversight of student learning.

Curriculum and instructional leadership
Oversight of Professional Development program
Coordination of Student Learning
Occasional/periodic teaching in classrooms
Master’s degree or higher in Education or related field
At least 5 years teaching or administrative experience
Versed in progressive education pedagogy
Leadership experience in designing and implementing curriculum and managing change
Thorough knowledge of the developmental needs of 3-12 year olds from diverse backgrounds
