Director of Children’s Services

Scion Staffing (www.scionstaffing.com), the Bay Area's leading nonprofit staffing specialist, has been engaged to find a new Director of Children's Services for a community focused nonprofit on the Peninsula south of San Francisco, CA. This position is for direct hire.

OVERVIEW
The Director of Children's Services is responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations, staffing, and service delivery of all early childhood programming. They will also be a key member in developing new businesses and programs for the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all program operations; lead and implement program planning and curriculum development.
  • Work with staff to implement tools to assess program impact and set goals and plans to improve program efficiency and quality.
  • Work closely with Administrative Director to oversee program budgets and monitor expenses, billing and annual planning.
  • Build collaborations and partnerships within the community to help expand early education programming and services.
  • Lead and monitor NAEYC accreditation process.
  • Serve as primary point person for all early education services; manage family and community relations.
  • Provide supervision, training, mentoring for all staff, interns, and volunteers; provide staff with professional development opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Special Education, Clinical Psychology, Early Education or related field required.
  • 7-10 years of experience with overseeing clinical services and operations.
  • 5 years of experience in special education and/or mental health service field strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and motivate teams; experience working with teachers and therapeutic staff a plus.
  • Experience with developing new programs and curriculum a MUST.

ADDITIONAL QUALITIES

  • Strong understanding of Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Early Intervention and inclusive preschools.
  • Solid track record of program management, including experience with program planning, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring administrative workflow.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and safety guidelines related to the area of developmentally disabled services for children.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This position offers a competitive salary up to $110K, as well as a robust benefits package.
