Director of Administration & Business Development

The Director of Administration & Business Development will drive strategic plan advancement across all key initiatives ranging from administrative support to working closely with organization leadership on specific initiatives and opportunities and liaising with the Board of Directors. In addition, the Director of Administration & Business Development will oversee management of the Central Office, assess, coordinate and manage administrative processes, tools, and communication routines throughout the organization, and support senior management and the Board of Directors.

  • Drive strategic plan advancement efforts across all key initiatives
  • Provide expertise in the exploration of new strategic opportunities
  • Liaise with, attend, and provide support for Board Strategic Committee meetings
  • Assess and drive excellence & consistency in administrative processes by working closely with Administrative Assistants across the organization
  • Manage & streamline internal communication tools and routines with Manager of Communications
  • Work with Department Heads to manage Administrative Manual and interface with Employee Handbook
  • Oversee compliance with Written Information Security Plan – act as Data Security Officer, provide training & coordinate with Director of Training & Staff Development regarding re-training
  • Develop robust pipeline and approach to manage interns to provide additional resources
  • Manage two support positions and interns as applicable
  • Attend & present at internal meetings at various locations as needed
  • Active & engaged member of Executive Leadership Team, Operations, and Leadership Institute
  • Work with VP & Chief Strategy Officer on special projects and other duties as required & assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree, with graduate work (MBA) or equivalent experience strongly preferred
  • 8-10 years of related experience
  • Highly motivated and resourceful self-starter with the ability to work both independently and closely with key stakeholders including Board members and leadership
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and professional maturity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to maintain good team relations
  • Strong interest in and commitment to the mission and vision is required
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, coordination, multi-tasking, and project management abilities
  • Excellent planning, organizational, oral and written communication skills
