DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT 

The Development Associate is a self-starter and reports to the Director of Fellowship and Alumni. The Development Associate is accountable for supporting philanthropic and revenue generation activities for BALLE and implementing effective donor identification, cultivation and stewardship strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 Create and manage development calendar for all donor activities, proposals and report deadlines;

 Write and produce professional and polished grant proposals and grant reports;

 Manage CRM (Salesforce) database; develop, track and prepare reports that ensure strong and efficient relationship management;

 Research opportunities for new grants and donors;

 Support the organization’s efforts to consistently diversify donor base;

 Assist in the development and implementation of short and long-term fund strategies;

 Support logistics for the Funders Circle initiative;

 Track sponsorship and scholarship activities for annual conference;

 Manage implementation of annual individual donor appeal, including list segmentation, donation tracking, reports and analysis;

 Improve efficiency of current fundraising efforts and document best practices;

 Track trends in development and new ways to communicate with donors;

 Collaborate with other staff to track and report on program outcomes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3+ years relevant experience

 Demonstrated track record of fundraising success with a working knowledge of all aspects of fund development, including grant proposal preparation and reporting as well as individual donor identification, cultivation and tracking

 Proficiency with CRM database required (Salesforce strongly preferred)

 Experience with government grant/contract reporting preferred

 Detail oriented with outstanding research, writing, and editing skills

 Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, use intuition and experience to complement data

 Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and complete tasks on time

 Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to represent BALLE professionally

 Thrives in a fast paced, entrepreneurial setting and a collaborative environment

 Skilled at working effectively with a diversity of people and organizations

 Passion for BALLE mission and our work.
