Creative Art Therapist at Shelter-Based After School Program

Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM), a Brooklyn-based multi-service agency who contracts with the NYC Department of Education, is seeking a Creative Art Therapist for a Shelter-Based After-School Program at PS46 in Brooklyn. The Creative Art Therapist will work with Elementary School Children who come from Shelter-based housing.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a degree in the field of Mental Health
  • Have experience leading art activities with young children
  • Have some knowledge and experience working with homeless families and/or special needs of vulnerable populations
  • Be able to create activity plans and have the expertise to lead art activities for individual therapy sessions and group therapy sessions
  • On occasion, be able to visit parents and communicate effectively with them
  • On occasion, be able to help the children with their homework
  • Be able to integrate art with their educational curriculum
