The Reece School, a prestigious non-profit special education elementary school for children (ages 5 to 13) with complex developmental delays, needs a qualified professional to fill the following position:


Major Job Duties and Responsibilites include: provides clinical or counseling services to students as mandated on IEP; formulates IEP goals and objectives for counseling and record session notes; writes mid year and end year progress reports for students on caseload.

works with families to understand disabilities and learn how to manage children; conducts individual and small group counseling meetings; acts as a liaison between the school and the students’s external therapists for students on counseling caseload;

interacts with staff and families to provide consistent approaches; provides a link to services that support welfare of the family; searches for community resources for financial, recreational and therapeutic support;

assesses needs; maintains a liaison with other organizations and programs; offers support to teams when crisis occurs; participates in admission process as needed.;

works with staff and families to provide consistent approaches; meets with Director as needed.

Qualifications: Masters Degree in Social Work or Masters degree in Psychology. New York State certification required. Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
