Position Description

The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for providing daily leadership, clinical intervention and supervision to the medical case management team for people living with HIV/AIDS and multiple diagnoses. The Clinical Supervisor works in collaboration with the community partners to ensure the effective delivery of biopsychosocial services which include medical care coordination, substance use treatment, therapeutic milieu and outreach to improve health outcomes. The Clinical Supervisor assists the Associate Director of Behavioral Health in the planning, implementation, and on-going quality assurance.

Essential Functions

  • Hire, manage, and develop medical case management, peer advocacy, treatment adherence, and behavioral health services team and client assignments;
  • Conduct individual and group clinical supervision, training and performance evaluation of staff;
  • Conduct semi-annual client chart reviews;
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary case conferences ;
  • Facilitate and develop individual and team educational goals with a focus on clinical skills development;
  • Assist Associate Director of Behavioral Health in ensuring compliance with standards of care and completion of contract deliverables;
  • Assist Associate Director of Behavioral Services in maintenance of program collaborative relationships;
  • Assist other clinical staff in implementation and oversight of clinical internship program;
  • Participate in management workgroup meetings and develop strategies for operating programs with other program managers;
  • Participate in agency and department staff meetings and trainings, and other meetings as required;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Monitor and evaluate the Individualized Treatment Plans for clients under supervisees’ care;
  • Responsible for the daily operations of the milieu and numerous therapy groups;
  • Provide crisis management and clinical case management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology or a related field from an accredited university and licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners;
  • 3-5 years of clinical and counseling experience with proven expertise in assessing and managing the psychosocial needs of persons who are multiply diagnosed, living with HIV/AIDS, and are homeless or marginally housed;
  • 2-5 years of experience in supervising mental health or case management providers in psychosocial issues relevant to HIV/AIDS, mental health and substance use;
  • Commitment to Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed Care
  • Sensitivity to and able to meet the service needs of a diverse client-base including: HIV positive, homeless or marginally housed, Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, and communities of color.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
  • Working knowledge of legal and ethical issues governing direct service delivery including, but not limited to, HIPPA, mandated reporting requirements and 5150

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience working with HIV care in an acute setting Written and verbal proficiency in an Asian or Pacific Islander language, especially Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese.
  • Experience with data systems such as ARIES

Salary Range: $52,000 -$55,000 if annualized, depending on experience
