Covenant House California (CHC) is seeking to fill a number of Full Time positions at our Oakland/Bay Area program. (1) Case Manager/Life Skills Specialist: ($15.50 to $16.10/Hour) 1 Evening F/T 40 hrs/week Benefited: Tuesday - Saturday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. The Case Manager/Life Skills Specialist is responsible for providing case management and life skills to clients. The position will be split: 20 hours case management with a caseload of 6 or more clients and 20 hours of Life Skills duties that include: Life Skills curriculum-based groups in the evening and developing/evaluating the life skills class curriculum on-going. The position facilitates activities such as a weekly Sunday client dinner, providing staff with client progress reports, and maintaining a database of clients' life skills activities. The position also assists with the screening and orientation of clients applying for other areas of CHC's progressive programs and responds to emergency or crisis situations as required. Initiates Critical Incident Reports as needed, completes other reports and documentation for resident's files on a regular basis.

(2) Housing/Benefits Specialist: ($15.00-$15.50/Hour) 1 Evening F/T 40 hrs/week Benefited: The Housing/Benefits Specialist is responsible for creating and updating an ongoing electronic housing inventory of Transitional, Permanent Supportive Shelters along with eligibility requirements, application assistance, intake assistance to youth moving to alternative housing. Assists all youth with medi-cal applications and processing, referrals to Mental Health and Medical Clinics; follow ups with clinic personnel and assistance with SSI or other Mental Health needs and community based clinic connections. Initiates Critical Incident Reports as needed, completes other reports and documentation for resident's files on a regular basis.

Education & Qualifications:

Case Manager/Life Skills Specialist & Housing/Benefits Specialist: A Bachelor's degree is required in a related Human Services field, 1-3 years residential/case management program experience with high risk 18-24 year old young adults preferred, have a valid CA Drivers License and a good driving record. All applicants must have excellent verbal/ written communication and computer skills.
