Connecticut Food Bank, a private, nonprofit organization, works with corporations, community organizations, and individuals to solicit, transport, warehouse and distribute donated food. By soliciting the food industry for products that will not sell ;; items that are wholesome but might have some cosmetic flaw ;; Connecticut Food Bank reduces waste and feeds people.
Founded in 1982, Connecticut Food Bank is an affiliate of Feeding America, the nation’s food bank network. Connecticut Food Bank is the largest centralized source of donated, emergency food in Connecticut. Through warehouses in East Haven, Fairfield, and Waterbury, and affiliated distribution centers in New London and Stamford, we provide food products to approximately 600 soup kitchens, shelters, food pantries and child and adult day programs in Fairfield, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, and Windham counties.
A new position to help meet the growing fundraising needs for Connecticut Food Bank’s upcoming capital campaign. Responsible for managing the day to day activities of the capital campaign. Duties will evolve as Connecticut Food Bank deepens its donor base, proceeds with an active capital campaign, and prepares for and enters the public phase. Reports to the Chief Development Officer.
Works closely with the Chief Development Officer, President & Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Philanthropy. Also works closely and collaboratively with Connecticut Food Bank leadership, the Development and Communications team, and program staff as needed. Works with and supports Campaign volunteers, including the Campaign Steering Committee.
Maintains the Campaign timetable and goals. Manages extensive Campaign materials and collateral, donor recognition and stewardship policies, and procedures for the Campaign. Reports Campaign progress to various audiences.
