Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

New Teacher Center is actively seeking a motivated, experienced candidate for our emerging business development team. This is an exciting opportunity to significantly contribute to NTC's new client engagement and business development efforts in a time of tremendous organizational growth. Under the supervision of the Senior Director for Program Engagement, the Business Development Manager is responsible for researching, identifying, and strategically cultivating new clients. Specific tasks include new client research, initial outreach, entering business development activities into NTC CRM, and generating reports on business development as needed. The Business Development Manager will work closely with a variety of team members across NTC who support communications, marketing, and client management efforts. NTC is looking for someone committed to the organization's mission of improving education through the development of teachers and school leaders.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

The following is an overview of the duties and responsibilities assigned to the position. The employee may perform other duties of required.

·Works closely with NTC client leads and senior leadership to grow business by managing and deepening relationships with NTC's existing client base

·Prospects potential opportunities, qualifies leads to be passed on to senior NTC program staff, and collaborates to develop the opportunity further

·Coordinates internal business development efforts, including overseeing staff meetings, business development project plans, timelines, etc.

·Initiates and follows up on communications with key clients

·Maintains tactical client engagement and client pipeline

·Compiles and synthesizes research on potential new clients

·Supports generation of business development proposals and communications for schools, districts, or states that have the potential to be strong NTC clients and partners

·Maintains client relationship management database, oversees data collection, and generates reports related to business development opportunities

·Prepares marketing packages, communications, and promotional materials for NTC staff engaging with potential new clients

·Assists communications and marketing team members in updating external communications collateral

·Researches and strategizes NTC attendance at pertinent conferences, oversees logistics as needed

·Provides general project management support for Senior Director, Program Engagement to further business development goals

·Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks

Qualifications:

·Bachelors degree in related field required

·Minimum of 2 years experience in a related field; prior experience in education sector strongly preferred

·Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, creative environment

·Exceptional project management skills and commitment to follow up and follow through

·Prior sales and marketing experience required

·Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

·Ability to work with teams of people at various levels within the organization and across various time zones

·Experience with client relationship management databases; entering, analyzing and presenting data in a concise manner to drive improvement

·Creative approach to improving systems and processes

·Passion for education

·Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Netsuite (preferred)
