FISH AND GAME DEPARTMENT
BIOLOGICAL AIDE – PLOVERS/SANDPIPERS
US:NH:HAMPTON/SEABROOK-Beach Area

Summary:
To carry out piping plover protection efforts including monitoring nesting birds and their habitat, collecting, maintaining and summarizing data into a final report, coordinating beach management and volunteer efforts, and maintaining equipment necessary to conduct protection efforts. To assist in monitoring upland sandpipers at Pease
International Tradeport. April – August.
Responsibilities:
To monitor piping plovers during the breeding season.
To set-up, maintain, and disassemble project fencing
To collect and maintain data and write required reports
To coordinate beach management activities among town, state and federal officials under the supervision of Nongame Program staff.
To conduct public education and outreach to beach goers and others as requested
To maintain tools and facilities associated with the projects.
To assist with monitoring upland sandpipers during the breeding season.
To assist with other projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of high school, G.E.D., or its equivalent. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Three year’s experience in fisheries or wildlife conservation, commercial fishing, landscaping, carpentry, agriculture, outdoor recreation, or park management, including experience in operating or maintaining equipment.
License Certification: Possession of valid driver’s license.
