Duties & Responsibilities -Provides departmental guidance on day to day operational issues.
-Manages and provides leadership on strategic staff recruitment, compensation, performance management, reclassification, salary management and staff development.
-Will be the first point of contact to resolve employee relations issues and will work with Human Resources (HR) to address further when necessary.
-Will identify departmental training needs and implement training as needed.
-Advises faculty and staff on best hiring practices, interfaces with HR and manages all payroll issues according to policies and practices.
-Oversees and manages all faculty searches and interacts with Faculty Affairs.
-Is responsible for maintaining personnel files, managing staff transitions and all new hire on-boarding.
-Manages all personnel data and personnel transactions in the Human Resource Information System.
-Develops, implements, and provides guidance to staff, faculty and managers on human resource and payroll administrative policies.
-Works with department leadership to streamline administrative processes and leads process improvement projects.
-Will represent the department on various school wide administrative meetings.
-Will supervise department’s administrative staff.
– Candidate will need to function very independently and will need to bring issues to closure with minimal guidance.
-Other administrative duties as required.
Basic Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree.
– 7+ years of progressive administrative management experience.
-Demonstrated supervisory experience required.
Additional Qualifications -Must have experience working with human resources policies and procedures.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
-Must have the ability to manage multiple activities in a time-sensitive environment, and handle difficult and confidential issues with integrity.
-Must be proficient in MS Office.
-Experience working in an academic setting preferred.
