Job Status: Permanent, Full-time (40-hrs/week)

Compensation: $47,500 – $60,000 (DOE)

Mission Housing offers technical assistance to service providers to help them develop affordable housing that meets the needs of special populations.

Job Responsibilities:

This position will report temporarily to the Interim Executive Director, until further notified. The Asset Manager will assist in overseeing and ensuring the financial and physical health of an affordable housing portfolio.

Responsibilities will include:

v Manage the redevelopment of Mission Housing Development’s existing portfolio.

v Manage the development of potential new projects.

v Assist in the planning and implementation of property specific Master Plans.

v Monitor and provide oversight of property management processes.

v Obtain and review property monthly financial and operating statements to ensure appropriate efficiency.

v Conduct regular property inspections and assist appropriate governmental agencies with physical property and file inspections.

v Assist in the preparation of annual governmental reporting and other compliance processes.

v Correspond and communicate with financial institutions such as lending agency and institution staff, limited partners and other investors.

v Produce quarterly, annual and other reports as required per loan, limited partnership and other governing loan and regulatory agreements.

v Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance or property portfolio.

v Assist in overseeing the annual property budgeting process and annual audit review process.

Responsibilities will include (continued):

v Engage relevant parties in financial workouts for properties with operational and cash flow challenges.

v Assist in implementing debt restructuring, recapitalization and resyndication processes as needed.

v Perform project management responsibilities as necessary, inclusive of budgeting, loan draws, loan conversion and construction-related support for development projects.

v Issues reports to, and participate in meetings with Mission Housing Executive staff and Board of Directors concerning confidential matters and MHDC policy discussions and decisions.

v Assist in the acquisition and disposition of organization’s physical property assets.

v Assist with processing of accounts payable and assist in the collections of amounts owed.

v Assist with the organization’s annual insurance renewal process, obtain certification of insurance from vendors and contractors, and ensure compliance of existing insurance requirements.

v Interface with and cultivate productive relationships with the Resident Services Department in an effort to produce the most stable and efficient housing environments possible.

v Any additional projects as assigned.


To perform this job successfully, qualified applicants must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

v BA, or graduate degree in finance or related field with 3-5 years of experience in real estate or finance or 7 years of related real estate experience.

v Ability to prepare financial feasibility analyses, conduct research and prepare narrative reports and proposals.

v Strong analytical skills.

v Strong management abilities and ability to lead by example.

v Good political instincts and judgment.

v Ability to work effectively with development professionals, public officials, and individuals of low and moderate income from multiple ethnic origins.

v Experience with, or strong interest, in non-profit, community-based organizations and commitment to the mission and goals of Mission Housing Development Corporation.

Requirements (continued):

v Strong computer skills, primarily on Microsoft Office Suite.

v Ability to take direction in an environment where priorities can change suddenly.

v Ability to multi talk and work well under pressure.

v Team player attitude.

v Be able to meet deadlines.
