AmeriCorps Positions with the Massachusetts Land Initiative for Tomorrow

The Massachusetts Land Initiative for Tomorrow (MassLIFT) AmeriCorps program was established in 2010 under the leadership of Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust. MassLIFT is a collaborative effort of regional conservation groups to meet critical community needs for land protection, stewardship of protected lands, conservation outreach and education, and service learning that engages young people in nature study and conservation. We are a grant program contingent on federal funding.

MassLIFT members serve in one of four positions: land stewardship coordinator, regional conservation coordinator, service learning coordinator, or community engagement coordinator. These AmeriCorps positions come with living allowances, health insurance, and the potential to earn education awards.

Each year 20 AmeriCorps members serve in the MassLIFT program. They serve in one of four positions: Regional Conservation Coordinators, Land Stewardship Coordinators, Community Engagement Coordinators, and Service Learning Coordinators.

These are full-time AmeriCorps positions requiring 1700 hours of service over 11 months. The 2013 MassLIFT program will run from September 16, 2013 - August 15, 2014. AmeriCorps positions come with living allowances, health insurance, and the potential to earn education awards upon successful completion of the service term.

Thirteen organizations, located across the state, will host MassLIFT AmeriCorps members in 2013 - 2014: Buzzards Bay Coalition, East Quabbin Land Trust, Essex County Greenbelt Association, Groundwork Lawrence, Hilltown Land Trust, Kestrel Land Trust, Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust (Mount Grace), North County Land Trust, the North Quabbin Regional Landscape Partnership (with Mount Grace), Sudbury Valley Trustees, and Wildlands Trust. Appalachian Mountain Club-Berkshires and Greenagers will share the assistance of a Service Learning Coordinator.

Application specifics, position descriptions, and information about the program and organizations hosting MassLIFT members can be found on the Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust website: www.mountgrace.org/masslift-americorps. (Choose Join MassLIFT)
