Benefits

Dessert Bake-offAntioch University New England (AUNE) offers a comprehensive benefits package to all employees working at least 75% time. Some of the benefits of working at AUNE include:

Health Plan

AUNE provides employees with a generous Health Plan, including a Preferred PPO Plan or a Supplemental Plan, as well as Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug and Life Insurance coverage. This coverage is available to employees, eligible dependents and domestic partners. Learn more about AUNE's Health Plan.

Flexible Spending Accounts

AUNE employees may set aside pre-tax dollars for three purposes — to pay for (1) dependent care expenses; (2) healthcare expenses; or (3) individual medical plan premiums that are not covered under one of AUNE's healthcare plan.

Disability Insurance

All AUNE employees have the option of enrolling in a long-term disability plan through a payroll deduction. Staff members are also covered by a short-term (6 month) disability plan.

Retirement

Antioch University New England contributes a percentage of salary per year to the TIAA-CREF pension plan as a benefit to employees. The retirement plan is vested from date of employment. AUNE contributions vary depending on classification level.

  • Staff members are entitled to a contribution of 6% of actual salary per year
  • Administrative associates are entitled to a contribution of 10% of actual salary per year, if age 29 or older, and 6% of actual salary if under age 29
  • Faculty and administration are entitled to a contribution of 13% of their actual salary per year if age 29 or older, and 6% of their actual salary if under age 29

Employees are also eligible to purchase a supplemental retirement annuity (SRA) through TIAA-CREF.

Personal Accident Insurance

AUNE offers employees a voluntary 24 hour accident protection plan. Coverage is available for employees and family members. A brochure is available upon request from the HR office.

Vacation

AUNE staff members and administrators are entitled to vacation time based on years of service as follows:

  • 0-2 years ~ 10 days
  • 2-5 years ~ 15 days
  • 5 years or more ~ 20 days

Faculty members are entitled to six weeks vacation in accordance with AUNE's published academic calendar.

Vacation time must be taken in the year in which the employee is entitled and cannot be carried over into another year, nor can employees be compensated for vacation time not taken.

Sick Leave

Employees are entitled to ten sick days per year which work in conjunction with total disability coverage.

Holidays

The AUNE benefits package includes generous holiday time off, including the week between Christmas and New Years. See the Current Holiday Schedule for this year's holiday calendar.

Tuition Remission

Employees (including spouses, dependents and domestic partners) are eligible for tuition remission at AUNE after one year of employment. The value of graduate tuition remission above $5,250 per year is currently considered a taxable fringe benefit and is included in your taxable income. The availability of this benefit is limited based on budget and is granted based on a priority system. View the full Antioch University Tuition Remission Policy.

Tuition Exchange

The Tuition Exchange (TE) provides a reciprocal scholarship exchange program for family members of benefited Antioch University New England employees among its members of over 530 colleges and universities located in 46 states and the United Kingdom. More on the Tuition Exchange guidelines.

Direct Deposit

AUNE can direct deposit an employee's payroll check to a bank, savings and loan or credit union, to multiple accounts or to multiple banking institutions.
