The Glen Maples Society

Glen Maple SocietyAntioch University New England began on a mountaintop estate in Putney, Vermont in 1964. The vision then was to create a graduate program for those who wanted to meet “pressing social needs.” In a three-story house, and on grounds shaded by maple trees, those first pioneering students and teachers of Antioch-Putney lived, worked, taught, and learned together. Forty years and over seven thousand six hundred graduates later, Antioch New England is still pursuing the same mission, with the same passion.

In recognition of that bold beginning, we name the society of our generous and loyal donors who have taken the step to include Antioch New England in their estate plans, for the place where it all started, Glen Maples.

We chose the maple seed as the emblem of the Society. It grows from the sturdy New England maple tree, then takes flight and carries the life of that tree to distant places. Like the teachings of Antioch New England, it finds fertile ground, sets down new roots, and continues the cycle. By joining the Glen Maples Society with a planned gift, you ensure the strength of ANE far into the future.

Anyone who has included Antioch New England in their will, or who donates another form of planned gift such as an annuity, charitable trust, or life estate, is eligible for membership in the Glen Maples Society. If you have already made provision for Antioch New England in your will, or if you would like further information about bequests and other forms of planned gifts, please contact Serafina Williams, at 603.283.2163, or via email.
