When: Tuesday, January 29, 2008. 6-9pm
Where: Antioch New England Community Room

This event is free and open to the public.

Climate change caused by the burning of fossil fuels is a grave challenge. Yet, it is an opportunity to improve the comfort and efficiency of our homes, utilize abundant clean renewable energy, and create local jobs.

The Forum features local, knowledgeable speakers focusing on specific topics and offering practical, action-oriented information on options for attendees to minimize their contribution to climate change. From 6-7PM, there will be information tables hosted by local organizations & businesses. The speaker portion will begin at 7PM and will include the following topics:

  • Introduction (former Mayor Michael Blastos)
  • Transportation (Steve Russel, Keene Fleet Superintendent - a local resource on vehicles & fuels)
  • Energy efficiency for existing homes (Gretchen Tillson, GDS - a local energy auditor)
  • Solar energy options (John Kondos, Solar Source/Home-Efficiency Resources - a local solar contractor)
  • Green building for new homes or additions (John Nielson, Eco-Logic Homes - a local green design/builder)
  • A general discussion of “reducing, reusing, and recycling” where everyone shares ideas.
Attendees get the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and leave with practical information to take action to reduce their carbon footprints.
