Guidelines for Hiring Non-FWS Students
Students with Federal Work Study Awards have been identified as our most needy students through the Financial Aid Application process and should therefore receive priority consideration in all filling student positions on campus. All jobs for students must be posted through the Financial Aid Office so that students with awards are aware of all available jobs. Occasionally, offices and departments may not find a student with the specific skills and availability for a critical position.* In these cases, it may be appropriate to request consideration for hiring a student that does not have a Federal Work Study Award. If approved, the student employee would be paid out of the Center Budget instead of out of the Federal Work Study Budget. * Because the ANE Non-FWS budget is limited, offices/departments should only consider hiring Non-FWS for critical positions. In order to preserve our priority commitment to hire students with Federal Work Study Awards, ANE offices/departments are asked to follow the process below for all positions for which they wish to hire a student. All jobs must be advertised Three week posting required Student Work Agreements When you’ll know the student can work | ||||
