Motivational Interviewing Seminar

Location: TBD

With Kevin Lyness, associate professor of applied psychology.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to working with clients and interviewees in which change is elicited through exploration and resolution of ambivalence. Event includes both lecture and interactive learning, and is an opportunity to see MI in action.

Local acting volunteers will play the part of clients. Kevin will not know who these clients are, or what their presenting concerns may be, so it’s a great chance to see how to incorporate MI into the interactions that we have each day.

Sponsored by the Student Wellness Association.
