Faculty Member: James Gruber

Community Conservation Partnership (CCP)

This faculty-student research project was funded by the Monadnock Conservancy in partnership with ANEI. It includes financial support from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. Other partners include Southwest Region Planning Commission and Towns of Alstead, Westmoreland, Walpole, Gilsum, and Surry. The Community Conservation Partnership was a collaborative effort to assist towns in the region:

  • Gain an understanding of what conservation is, how it works, and how it can benefit the community
  • Build consensus about what role conservation should play in realizing the town's future
  • Assist towns in identifying lands that contribute most to town character and quality of life and determine if there is consensus to protect these lands
  • Trained volunteers who can assist land owners and town boards reach conservation objectives
