Monadnock NH Region Greenhouse Gas Reduction Initiative

This faculty-student research project was funded through a grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. This was a three-year joint initiative with Clean Air-Cool Planet and ANEI that includes partnerships with ICLEI, and the US EPA. The objective of this project was to achieve a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire within three years through an assertive community research and engagement approach. The project was providing support, tools and coordination needed in order to implement an effective new model of regional, multi-town climate action planning and implementation.
Student Theory & Skills Applied:
- Field energy data collection and synthesis
- Conducting a greenhouse gas inventory with the ICLEI and EPA software
- Preparing local reports on climate change
- Data analysis and synthesis
- Presentation of GHG inventory reports created for the region
