Marian is an independent consultant who works with community groups, coalitions, and grass roots agencies that wish to improve some health or social problem impacting their communities. She facilitates groups and helps them develop a collaborative process based on their own goals and needs. Marian also helps people organize their ideas into strategic plans, and does needs-assessments based on the specific needs of individual communities. Much of her work has been with inner-city groups.
Her interests are focused on the urban environments where people live and work every day. Specifically, she is interested in how elders maneuver in complex built and cultural surroundings. She wishes to combine her hands-on, practical experience facilitating groups on improvement efforts with the knowledge gained through the doctoral learning process. Marian holds a BA in English Literature and an MA in Anthropology.
