He currently holds privileges at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he supervises advanced doctoral students on the cardiac rehabilitation unit, and oversees student involvement on the hospital's ob-gyn wellness program.

In addition to health psychology, substance abuse is another area of interest and expertise. Dr. Pantesco was the chief psychologist in an addictions hospital for eight years and continues to work clinically with that population. Since 1996 he has been a speaker on three occasions at the Harvard Medical School national conferences on addictions and adolescent self-destructive behavior. He has also given numerous trainings on such topics as ethics and substance abuse treatment, treating dual diagnosis, working with substance-abusing trauma victims, ethics within training programs, and clinical hypnosis.

He is an elected member of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Directors of Psychology Training Clinics, and is a Diplomate in the American Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Pantesco works from a transtheoretical perspective integrating humanistic, developmental, strategic, cognitive-behavioral, reality, and existential theories. He is very interested in what forms and sustains therapeutic effectiveness. He is a licensed psychologist in New Hampshire and continues in a private practice begun in 1988.
