An ordained Episcopal Priest, Stephen is a Licensed Pastoral Psychotherapist in private practice in Keene. While he was trained in traditional psychoanalytical oriented psychotherapy, Stephen has had extended training experiences in other modes of therapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy, transactional analysis, Gestalt, hypnosis and short term goal directed therapy. “Throughout my career,” he says, “I have sought to integrate the techniques of psychotherapy with the resources of spirituality to help people find meaningful answers to life’s problems.”
For twelve years Stephen was executive director and senior staff psychotherapist and clinical supervisor at the MAPS Counseling Services (MAPS). He was the founder and executive director of the Counseling and Human Development Center in New York City. Since June 2004, Stephen has been a Professional Seminar Leader in Marriage and Family Therapy at Antioch. He is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Level 1 and has completed 40 hours of Mediation training.
Stephen is a Diplomate of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC) and a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
