Received an M.S. in early childhood education from Southern Connecticut State College and a B.A. in psychology from Marquette University. He completed his doctoral studies in education through the Integrated Day Program at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he was practicum field coordinator and an instructor for the Interdisciplinary Teacher Education Program. He was an elementary teacher for twelve years and an adjunct faculty member at Johnson State College, Goddard College, Vermont College, and the University of Vermont. His interests are in how the arts relate to teaching and learning, thematic curriculum, and multi-age grouping.
