Received his doctorate from Cornell University in 1984, having completed his internship at the Counseling Center of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Arbeitman has been an Associate Faculty member in the PsyD program at Antioch since 1987, teaching numerous courses including Psychopathology and Professional Seminar. He is training director of the APA-Accredited Internship in Professional Psychology at the Carson Center for Adults and Families in Westfield, Massachusetts, where he has been a staff psychologist and clinical supervisor since 1989. He is also adjunct faculty at the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology at the University of Hartford.
Dr. Arbeitman specializes in integrative and cognitive-behavioral treatments, and has been “intensively” trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He has presented on numerous occasions to hospitals, residential programs, and CMHCs on the DBT treatment model. He is a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts and maintains a private practice in Westfield, where he specializes in couples therapy and the treatment of anxiety disorders.
