Overview
Barnes has provided mental health services in the Monadnock region since 1985 at the Cheshire Medical Center, Beech Hill Hospital, Monadnock Family Services, Keene State College, and NH Catholic Charities. He has served as the Mental Health Clinician at the Cheshire County Department of Corrections since 2000. Barnes has been an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program since 2007 and has taught courses on Group Counseling, Forensic Counseling, and Professional Seminar. He provides an annual internship for a CMHC Program student at the Cheshire County Department of Corrections, and he coordinates the clinical services of ANE Psychological Services Center doctoral-level trainees who work with inmates. Barnes also maintains a private practice in Keene where he provides individual and group psychotherapy, and couple/marital counseling.
Barnes is a member of the NH Mental Health Counselors’ Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, the Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy, and the National Association of Forensic Counselors.
