Barb Andrews is the Program Director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Antioch University New England. She is returning to AUNE after serving as the Assistant Chair of the Department of Counselor Education at Adams State University in southern Colorado for several years.

Barb holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Northern Colorado, an M.S. in Counseling from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania, and a BS in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire. She has served as the President of the Colorado Counseling Association, trained and supervised counselors as tenured faculty for a number of years in both face to face and online programs. She was chosen to be one of ten individuals within the field to represent the United States as part of a program supported by the National Board of Certified Counselors to be part of a Counseling Institute to help establish and develop the profession of counseling in the developing nation of Bhutan. She has provided direct counseling and administrative services as Dean of Student Development and Director of the Counseling Center at Green Mountain College in Vermont, has a small private practice, and formerly worked with Hospice of Central PA for many years serving as both a practitioner and consultant.

Barb currently lives in the greater Keene, New Hampshire, area after recently relocating back to the region to be closer to her grandson in southeastern Vermont. She did teach as core faculty at Antioch for a one-year position earlier in 2004-2005, between teaching positions in Colorado. She knew even then that she wanted to return to Antioch. She has two grown children, a daughter in Vermont (also in education) and a son in Alaska (captain of a fishing boat). She loves music, travel, hiking, kayaking, photography, and generally spending time outdoors.

Barb is excited to be back as part of the AUNE community and truly feels as though this is her ‘home‘ both professionally and personally. She is passionate being part of the team as AUNE continues to expand and grow.
