Block Seven: Simplicity Parenting Coaching - Part Onewith Kim John PayneWest Coast: February 12-5, 2010 - Three Cedars Waldorf School, Bellevue, WA East Coast: April 5-8, 2010 - Antioch University New England, Keene, NH Beginning at 6:00 pm, the first evening through 4:00 pm, the last day The Simplicity Parenting Coach is a deeply rewarding and much appreciated role that can have a profound impact on a family's quality of life. The coach's aim is to help strengthen families and re-orient the family values that often become crowded out due to the pace of contemporary life. Emphasis will be on working with parents to help them feel successful and confident, and to help them select strategies which are "do-able" within the framework of their lives. In Simplicity Parenting Coach Part One, you will learn how to facilitate Simplicity Parenting Discussion and Integration Groups. You will be asked to form a Group in your local region and will be given online support from the Waldorf Collaborative Counseling Program through the process. You will also learn how to lead parents through a carefully prepared and responsive process exploring the first two of the four layers of Simplicity Parenting. The first layer involves learning to coach parents in simplifying their children's nvironment. The second layer is learning how to help parents introduce rhythm and predictability, particularly around meal and bed times. Participants build the skills they need to support parents through the simplifying process as they bring the vital change so many families are seeking in order to raise happy, secure, and resilient children. *Simplicity Parenting Part One is a pre-requisite for Part Two.
