Block Five - 2008 Program

Skills for the Human Encounter

with William Bento & Kim John Payne

This program is Block 5 of a the Waldorf Collaborative Counseling Program. It focuses on dialogue, styles, and skills for the human encounter based on the seven soul or planetary qualities. The program introduces an approach to working with life events that helps people get in touch with the reality of their experiences.

We will explore healing and development, the healing potential of the human encounter in the helping relationship, and the particular nature and dynamics of this helping relationship, including transference and counter-transference. Interwoven throughout is a consideration of the fundamental attitudes and faculties needed to help others in their development, the inner path of training and practice that can awaken these faculties, and ethical concerns involving contracts, boundaries, and supervision.

This block has a registration prerequisite of attendance in at least two previous blocks of the Waldorf Collaborative Counseling Program.
